Information Security and Assurance Faculty (Full-Time)

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in information security, information systems or a closely related field with an established record of effective teaching/experience and research in one or more of the following areas: information security program management (policy, practice, planning and governance), and information security technology management (including network security, the security of operating systems, and cyberdefense).  Desirable teaching qualifications include: evidence of excellence in teaching, excellent verbal and written communication skills, interest in a highly collaborative faculty environment, experience in and enthusiasm to teach both face-to-face and online, and experience in curriculum planning.

Duties include undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate teaching, developing and sustaining externally funded research and development activities as they relate to cyber security, student supervision and mentoring, and service on committees and participating in professional and industry activities.

Preference will be given to the candidate able to demonstrate understanding of the principles, practices, and techniques used to secure distributed applications, information, and the infrastructure of distributed information systems. Potential research and teaching areas include security planning, policies and models, malware, threats and attacks, and the use and integration of distributed system security mechanisms for confidentiality, authentication, access control, and intrusion detection. He/she should also be able to provide an overview of the legal, ethical, and professional issues involved in information security, particularly with respect to risk management, security planning, security technologies, and security implementation and maintenance.
