NS-352 - Unix Administration and Security

Installing Unix/Linux, creating user accounts, controlling directory file access, removing users, and shutting system down. File handling utilities (tabular processing, search/modify, split/join, sort/merge, and compress/encrypt), text processing (nroff/troff), software development utilities (yacc, lex, lint, sccs, etc), communication utilities. Unix security, encryption, secure socket layers. Disaster recovery plans, password security, security policies. Tuning the system. Learn how to secure insecure services, NFS, and protect trust relationships. Projects are assigned as part of the homework requirements. Formally CT-352.  Prerequisite: CT-152.
