Effective August 21, 2006, Capitol College will begin to offer a 127-128 credit BS in information assurance.
At the same time as the initiation of the BSIA program, Capitol College will phase out the 127-128 credit BS in network security. After the fall 2006, the BSNS program will not enroll new students.
Any current BSNS student preferring to complete the BSNS has four semesters to complete the four core network security courses (NS-201, NS-351, NS-352 and NS-401). These four courses will continue be offered on campus until spring 2008.
Students preferring to start with or to switch to the BSIA degree can do so starting fall 2006. New BSIA courses have been added to the fall 2006 schedule and will be offered in a synchronous online format.
Students enrolled in the BSNS program who decide to switch to the BSIA program must notify the Office of Registration and Records and the Office of Financial Aid. Failure to do so may jeopardize the availability of financial aid or veteran’s benefits.
Students currently seeking a degree in BSNS should schedule a meeting with the dean of student life and retention or the college advisor to develop a degree completion plan for the BSNS program or to discuss their options for pursuing the BSIA program.
