The MSIAE degree program provides students with the professional competencies specified by the world’s two most prominent authorities in information assurance:
The joint National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Committee on National Security Standards (CNSS)
The (ISC)2 organization’s requirements for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential.
The eight required core courses are mapped to all six of the CNSS domains specified by the NSA and DHS; with the suffix A indicating mapping at the Advanced level for the three standards that include multiple levels.

From November 2005 through March 2006, NSA/DHS extensively reviewed Capitol College’s MSIAE program and each one of its IAE courses, formally recertifying Capitol College as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE) in all five CNSS domains, through 2009. On June 5, 2007, NSA announced that the curriculum meets all of the elements of CNSSI 4016 at the advanced level.
