You may take courses at another college or university and transfer the credit toward your Capitol College degree. However, you should first discuss this plan with an advisor.
If you and your advisor decide that it's best to complete the courswork outside Capitol College, obtain a form for transfer credit approval from the Office of Registration and Records. You must also submit a copy of the course description from the college or university you plan to attend. (Distance learners can meet with the department chairperson by phone or email).
The form must be approved by the department chair responsible for the equivalent course. After you meet with the department chair, return the completed form to the Office of Registration and Records. The form will be filed in your official record. After you complete the course, an official transcript from the college or university must be sent to Capitol College.
If you do not have the transfer credit approved before taking the course, you may not receive credit; you will not receive credit for any courses without an official transcript.
