Consult the academic calendar for the last days to add and drop classes. Please note the tuition implications and the add/ drop/ audit fee as listed on the Business Office link. Adding and dropping courses may be completed by either submitting the online form below or by completing the paper form located in the Office of Registration and Records.
If you're considering dropping or withdrawing from a course, you should contact your advisor. You and your advisor can review your tracking sheet and any impact of dropping a course on your academic plan and expected graduation date.
You should also meet with the course instructor to discuss if any challenges or issues can be resolved. If you still opt to drop or withdraw, complete an add/drop form, which can be done via our online form or in print (obtained from Office of Registration and Records). We recommend you review your schedule with your advisor.
Course Drop/Withdrawal
There is a difference between dropping a course and withdrawing. A drop takes place during the tuition refund period, and you're entitled to a certain refund as outlined in the refund schedule. A withdrawal takes place after the tuition refund period has expired, and results in a W on your transcript. A W does not impact your cumulative GPA. Failure to attend class does not imply withdrawal and does not eliminate your academic or financial responsibilities.
The deadlines for dropping a course and withdrawal from a course are listed in the college academic calendar page.
