If the water or toilet is unusable, or if the electricity or heat goes off, immediately call an RA. The RA will contact maintenance.
Contact the coordinator of residence life if a light goes out, a sink drips or leaks; you notice water on your carpet or your air conditioner goes off. Or you can fill out the maintenance request form online. The coordinator of residence life will document the problem and contact maintenance.

First check the schedule posted on the bulletin board and call the RA on duty. If you cannot reach the on-duty RA at the posted number, call the RA cell phone at 301-655-2116.

Contact your RA or the coordinator of residence life. Explain the problem. A meeting will be scheduled so your concerns can be mediated. Do not ignore problems, or they may become crises.

Politely ask the occupants to be quiet. If that does not help, ask the RA on duty to talk to the residents of the apartment.

The health and safety inspectors are checking to see if the apartment is being kept in a reasonable manner. They are also looking for any damages and making sure all fire safety equipment is working.

To accommodate fire codes, the smoke detectors are very sensitive. It takes very little smoke to set off the system. To minimize this happening, open a window and turn on the stove fan when cooking.

The halls are closed over winter break to provide time for repairs, renovation and cleaning. It also provides much-needed downtime for the residence life and security staff.
