Continuing Students
Continuing students are encouraged to choose their own roommates if they have guaranteed their housing
by April 15. The residence life staff will make apartment assignments during the summer. Housing assignments
will be released on July 22.
New Students
The residence life staff assigns roommates based on the interest information provided on the housing application
and agreement. You will be sent a letter letting you know when and where to check in.
The college strives to ensure housing for all students during their enrollment.
Single Room Requests
The requests for single rooms exceed the availability. Single rooms are not usually available for first-time
residents. A waiting list is available.
Vacant Bedrooms and Overbooking
Vacant bedrooms in all apartments are locked and cannot be used by other residents living in the apartment.
Students housing fees provide you with a bedroom and a common living area. In the event of overbooking, you
may be required to move into temporary multiple-occupancy apartments or rooms.
Apartment Occupancy Policy
The college tries to maintain full occupancy all the time. Room changes should be kept to a minimum. Necessary
room changes must be authorized by the office of residence life.
You may not sublet your apartment, transfer or assign your student housing contract to anyone else.
Security and Key Deposit
During check-in you are issued all the necessary keys for access to your assigned apartment and mailbox. The
room-reservation deposit for new students is the security and key deposit.
All keys remain the property of the college. They are loaned to you only while you occupy your apartment and room. You may not duplicate the key or loan it to anyone else. When you move out or end your housing contract, you must return your keys to an RA or the office of residence life.
The locks and combinations are changed when keys are lost. Immediately report any lost key to an RA or the office of residence life. You will be charged for the replacement key and lock.
