The primary function of all ILI programs and activities is to build lasting and mutually beneficial relationships between Capitol College and our many constituents both local and national. The following programs are functions of the ILI that students and organizations can take advantage of to get involved.

Leaders in Residence
The Leaders in Residence program invites technology, business and government leaders to work with students on campus and online from three- to twelve-month periods to provide practical, realistic lessons of technology leadership applied to real world challenges. Leaders in Residence teach seminars and act as counselors/mentors to a small number of students during their term in residence.
Innovation and Leadership Fellows
Students showing promise and interest in technology leadership are invited to become Innovation and Leadership Fellows. Their fellowships will allow them to participate in internship and project opportunities with companies and agencies while they pursue their formal studies.
Leadership Development Training
For adult learners not seeking a degree, short courses, seminars, and modules of the educational curriculum will be made available for short-term training sessions (though the credits may transfer toward degrees). These activities, which focus on information assurance and leadership/management, are designed to develop skills and assist professionals in achieving relevant certifications for the advancement of their careers.
Applied Innovation Research
Faculty and advanced students will engage in practical research projects to demonstrate technology capabilities in government and business environments. They will also regularly survey trends in the professional and trade literature to summarize new and best practices. A newsletter or journal disseminating these best practices in technology innovation and leadership will be published quarterly.
Affinity Groups
Leaders from non-competing organizations with similar opportunities or challenges will convene at our neutral campus to create shared solutions or action plans for all organizations involved, facilitated by an ILI faculty member or Leader in Residence.
