Capitol College collaborates with several community organizations and educational programs at the pre-college level, including:

  • Maryland MESA - Maryland MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) is a structured, K-12, precollege program designed to prepare students for academic and professional careers in mathematics, engineering, science, and technology. In partnership with MESA, the college coordinates high school and middle school visits to the Cyber Battle Lab.

  • First Generation College Bound - Since its start in 1990, First Generation College Bound has held after-school homework clubs at Capitol College to help teens become the first in their family to go to college. The organization also helps high school students and their families navigate the admissions process with SAT workshops, college visits, financial aid workshops and more.

  • FIRST Robotics Competition - Capitol College annually hosts the Chesapeake Regional remote kickoff for the international robotics contest. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) strives to inspire high school students to be our next generation of scientists, engineers, researchers and technicians by enabling them to experience the excitement of math, science and engineering.

  • Project Lead The Way - Project Lead The Way Inc. is a national program forming partnerships among public schools, higher education institutions and the private sector to increase the quantity and quality of engineers and engineering technologists graduating from colleges and universities.

  • Center for Space Science Education and Public Outreach - Capitol College's Center for Space Science and Public Outreach (SSEPO) provides hands-on education and workforce development experiences for students of all ages, from kindergarten through college, and those who support them in achieving leadership careers in the STEM fields.
