




The NSA and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have designated Capitol College a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education, an honor granted to only 50 institutions throughout the country. Capitol helps NSA reduce vulnerabilities in the national information infrastructure by producing professionals with information assurance expertise in various disciplines.
Through partnerships with government, academia, and industry, NSA's Information Assurance mission advocates improvements in IA education, training, and awareness.
In conjuction with NASA, Capitol College's Space Operations Institute (SOI) prepares students for careers in the space industry and space mission operations. Through internship and co-op opportunities, as well as hands-on experiences, students learn to control and track spacecraft. SOI students and faculty currently operate four NASA earth science satellites.
Capitol College is a sponsor of the Maryland InfraGard Chapter. The InfraGard program is an essential part of the FBI's Cyber Division's nationwide outreach effort. The program conducts outreach and information sharing with businesses, institutions, and community organizations that operate critical infrastructures. The InfraGard has established a mechanism for sharing information about intrusion incidents and system vulnerabilities and provided a channel for the FBI to disseminate analytical threat products to the private sector.
FAET is designed to prepare students for careers in engineering, networking, software development and architectural design. The curriculum includes Project Lead the Way a pre-engineering program; a national program that prepares students for careers in engineering and biomedical sciences. FAET seeks to unify rigourous academic standards with relevant life and career skills with a student centered project-based focus.
FAST is designed to prepare students for careers in Environmental Science, Biosciences and Medical Sciences. FAST is partnered with Project Lead the Way, implementing a Biomedical Science curriculum. FAST seeks to unify rigourous academic standards with relevant life and career skills with a student centered project-based focus.
