Community Outreach

First Generation College Bound - Since its start in 1990, First Generation College Bound has held after-school homework clubs at Capitol College to help teens become the first in their family to go to college. The organization also helps high school students and their families navigate the admissions process with SAT workshops, college visits, financial aid workshops and more.

FIRST Robotics Competition - Capitol College annually hosts the Chesapeake Regional remote kick off for the international robotics contest. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) strives to inspire students to be our next generation of scientists, engineers, researchers and technicians by enabling them to experience the excitement of math, science and engineering.

NASA PREP - The NASA Pre-College Engineering Program (PREP) is a six-week residential program offered on the Capitol College campus to minority high school students who are interested in engineering. The program prepares and motivates students through classes and work at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Students get a head start on the college experience while also becoming eligible for scholarships if they choose to attend Capitol.

Project Lead The Way - Project Lead The Way Inc. is a national program forming partnerships among public schools, higher education institutions and the private sector to increase the quantity and quality of engineers and engineering technologists graduating from colleges and universities.
