New Partnership Offers Tech Education Opportunities to Mesalands Community College Students



Capitol Technology University is excited to announce a new partnership with Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, New Mexico. On October 3, 2022, Capitol Tech signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mesalands CC to provide technology education opportunities to Mesalands students.

Located in the southwest U.S., Mesalands CC offers unique programs such as paleontology and silversmithing, as well as agricultural business, renewable energy studies, creative and digital arts, and more. Through this partnership, Capitol Tech will provide its own unique benefits to students who aspire to further their education in technology fields. As a STEM-focused institution recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), Capitol Tech is the only independent college in Maryland dedicated to offering undergraduate and graduate programs in aviation and unmanned autonomous systems, astronautical science, engineering, computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, data science, business, construction, and management of technology. It is designated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and National Security Agency (NSA) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense. Through access to excellent resources and partnerships, Capitol Tech positions students for career success in the top industry fields. 

Within the agreement, it is stated that Mesalands CC students who attain an associate’s degree will be provided a seamless transfer process into an asynchronous online or on-campus bachelor’s program offered by Capitol Tech. In addition, these students will be eligible for a transfer scholarship of up to $10,000, as well as a partnership tuition rate at a reduced cost while completing their bachelor’s degree.

We are honored to partner with Mesalands Community College to provide these opportunities to the Mesalands students on our campus or online and build upon a successful relationship year after year.” MOUs like these allow institutions such as the University Center at Mesalands Community College and Capitol Tech to provide students with opportunities to complete their education through agreements with partner colleges at reduced rates.

Capitol Tech offerings include faculty who are experts in their fields, technical experience through specialized labs and curriculum, and career development through potential internship opportunities with NASA and other private and public sector organizations.
