Capitol Updates Bachelor of Science in Web Development
July 26, 2012
Capitol College has recently announced that its Bachelor of Science in Software and Internet Applications has been restructured as the Bachelor of Science in Web Development (BSWD).
The BSWD degree program is structured to prepare students to understand and effectively respond to the entire spectrum of Internet issues and challenges, with a strong emphasis on web development. Students are educated in computer and web programming, networking and server administration.
The program is designed to produce well-rounded web development experts who can design the visual aspect of websites on the front end while possessing the more technical development and programming knowledge that resides on the back end.
The software and Internet applications degree was initially offered in 1998. Throughout the 14 year history of the program, classes have been added and redeveloped in order to reflect the changes in industry. Today, classes like multimedia applications, web programming languages and dynamic webpage development all keep students up-to-date with what’s happening in industry. In the Fall 2012 semester, the class introduction to game programming will be offered for the first time.
