$1000 Scholarship Opportunity

The DE-DC-MD Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (ASFAA) has established a scholarship fund that will award a minimum of three $1,000 scholarships for students who attend an eligible institution within its geographic area.

Student applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be attending an eligible DE-DC-MD institution July 1, 2005-June 30, 2006.
  2. Be certified as possessing financial need as defined by the institution.
  3. Undergraduates must possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or the equivalent. Graduate and professional students must possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or the equivalent.
  4. Undergraduate students must possess at least a second year standing for Academic Year 2005- 2006 or have completed one-half of a one year course of study in a private career school. Graduate and professional students must have completed one year of their program.
  5. Complete the scholarship application and required essay and submit both to your financial aid office. (Your Director of Financial Aid MUST certify your application.) 
  6. Submit letter of recommendation from an academic counselor or professor with application and essay to your financial aid office.

Applications must be received no later than February 17, 2006
