FBI agent discusses fighting cyber crime at Career Day

September 12, 2006 Laurel, Maryland

An FBI agent with the cyber crime unit in Baltimore will talk about trends within the field as well as job possibilities at this year’s Career Day on Sept. 26.

Supervisory Special Agent David Musgrove will give the keynote remarks that kick off the 9th annual Career Day at Capitol College. Musgrove will address the college community at 10 a.m. in the Gudelsky Auditorium.

Capitol held its first Career Day in 1998 as part of the job guarantee program offered by the college. As with previous years, daytime classes will be cancelled. Attendance at Career Day is mandatory for all new and returning students who are participating in the Capitol Commitment.

"Career Day is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about their career options and how to plan for what they want," said Tony Miller, director of career services and community relations. " It's a casual, informative environment so they discuss issues about the working world and the current environment."

Students who attend Musgrove’s address will receive a voucher to attend a lunch following the speech. After the keynote address, students will split off into three groups, depending on their class standing. The groups will have three different tracks of afternoon workshops.

Workshops include information on how to obtain a security clearance, student work programs with the federal government and interview skills. Students who attend all the sessions will be entered into a raffle for a $200 Best Buy gift card.

Students should RSVP for the event by contacting the Office of Career Services at careers@capitol-college.edu.
