In order to recognize young talent in the arts, the Puente Library has announced that it will be sponsoring an art series called "Up and Coming..." The series is meant to highlight local young artists and give them a chance to display their artwork in the library. This non-traditional setting gives the artists exposure to wide-ranging audience and experience showcasing their work.

The first featured artist will be Kevin M. Sample of Crofton, Maryland, a graduate of Arundel High School and a current sophomore studying Visual Arts at Anne Arundel Community College. Kevin has experience with many different forms and styles of drawing in pen, ink and charcoal mediums, and has received recognition from South River High School for his work in the Literary Magazine.

Library staff invites everyone to stop by and enjoy this artist’s work, as well as the many artists to follow this coming school year.
