Although the wind threatened to blow everyone away on Saturday, October 20, 2007, the first annual Capitol College Community Day proved to be a huge success. Open House participants and community members alike had the pleasure of playing games and laser tag, winning prizes, jousting and sliding down a giant slide.
Neighbors from around the campus were pleased that they could bring their children and spend the day with students, Capitol friends and alumni. They have expressed their approval and anticipation of next year’s repeat event.
President Wood would like to thank all of those who attended the event, as well as those who volunteered to help out. "I was impressed with the goodwill that was generated," he said, "and would like to see the same great turnout next year."
The event's coordinator, Joy Johnson, would also like to thank the entire college for supporting Community Day, specifically the 80th Anniversary Committee and the S-Lab, IEEE and CBEC student groups who volunteered their time and efforts.
