The votes have been counted and the verdict is in. The national editorial review team at GetEducated.com, an independent, online degree clearinghouse, has designated Capitol College's master of science degree in computer science a "Best Buy" for 2008.

The award is based on a review of 67 regionally accredited, competing universities offering online degree and distance-learning options nationwide. Capitol's degree program is ranked 20th on the site's Top 30 Best Buy Masters in Computer Science and Information Technology. The list also ranked Capitol's master of science in information assurance as an honorable mention candidate.

"A 'Best Buy' designation indicates that the degree program has been reviewed and judged to offer a high quality distance degree to a national audience at tuition rates well below the national average," stated a company representative.

Coupled with the most recent tuition freeze and tuition cuts in the business and management degrees, the distinction places Capitol high in the ranks of affordable colleges offering an excellent education. Total tuition for a master's degree in computer science will cost students $15,390, while a master's degree in information assurance costs $18,468. Comparatively, some colleges are charging learners in excess of $40,000 for a graduate degree.

Capitol College has formerly received this distinction from GetEducated.com for master of science degrees in computer science, electrical engineering and network security. The master of science in computer science at Capitol College is a 30-credit, 10-course degree program. Like all of Capitol’s graduate degrees, the computer science program is offered entirely online.
