Teaching at Capitol since: 2002
Why did you first become a professor?
I became a Professor at the urging of Doctor Ward and Professor Ashworth and never regretted the decision
What is your favorite part about teaching?
I love collaborating with students about the important work they perform to protect our nation.
Why Capitol? What makes it different?
Capitol College has a unique mission and blend of students which set it apart from its peers. The live lectures and online labs are always student favorites.
How has your career prior to teaching affected your teaching? How important has your experience been?
Teaching motivates me to stay current and be an asset to my students’ professional development.
What is your proudest professional or academic achievement?
My proudest moment each year is watching my students graduate. Another proud moment was leading a military/civilian team which documented the military usage of commercial wireless technologies throughout Southwest Asia. The team made practical recommendations to secure those wireless communications which were later adopted by the Department of Defense.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work? What is something your students might not know about you?
My students would never guess that I played lacrosse in college and I love watching UM play. I also support a micro loan program for developing entrepreneurs in Africa
