Capitol College Names Newest Board Member, Lockheed Martin’s Haden Land
 
LAUREL, MD (June 20, 2012) – Capitol College is pleased to announce Haden Land, Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer at Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS)-Civil business, as the newest member of the college’s Board of Trustees.
 
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Mr. Land to our board,” Michael T. Wood, Capitol College president, said. “Haden’s rich experiences with Lockheed Martin enterprises around the globe, and the expertise he brings from serving on other college boards, will be of immense value to Capitol.”
 
In his current position, Land is responsible for new business technical solutions, strategic enterprise initiatives, engineering performance and solution delivery, technical talent development, strategic partnerships, internal research and development, and emerging technology planning. He leads the engineering and development of business offerings directly in line with the biggest challenges facing our nation. Areas of expertise include cloud computing; big data; cyber security; enterprise mobility; advanced materials; adaptive systems; enterprise architecture; agile development; advanced concepts; and has domain knowledge within government, space, energy, law enforcement, transportation and healthcare.
 
“I’m honored to serve on Capitol College’s Board of Trustees” said Land. “I look forward to continuing to help to guide the college in my new capacity as a trustee and supporting Capitol’s tradition of STEM education excellence.”
 
Land was previously a member of Capitol College’s Industry Advisory Board, and serves on numerous boards including: the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council Board, the Security Innovation Network Steering Committee, the Washington DC Executive Summit Co-Chair and the Global CIO Executive Committee, and is a trustee at Potsdam University.
 
Land holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science from Potsdam University and a master's degree in computer information science from Syracuse University. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Capitol College in 2010.
