What motivated you to work in higher education, and what do you enjoy most about the profession?

During my senior year in college in a non-profit marketing class, we had the Director of Admissions give a guest lecture on how they market the university. It was a fascinating presentation and inspired me to include higher education marketing in my post graduation job search. I enjoy working with students and helping them achieve their educational and career goals.

What is your most enjoyable project?

Developing recruiting and marketing plans and seeing them implemented and practiced.

Describe any of your proudest professional accomplishments, awards, publications, etc.

One of my proudest professional accomplishments is my affiliation with First Generation College Bound, an organization that supports and assists first generation students in attending college.

What book is on your nightstand right now?

Miles and Miles of Reptiles by Dr. Seuss and other assorted children’s books.

What do you enjoy most about working at Capitol?

Getting to know the students, enjoying the close-knit, friendly atmosphere, and feeling like I’m making a difference each day.

What one technology do you wish were available now?

I am a technology fan. I embrace new technologies, but I am not a bandwagon jumper. I just finally got an MP3 player.

What kinds of projects/committees/groups are you active in on-campus?

I am part of the Student Information Systems Committee and Enrollment Management Committee, and Scholarship Committees.

What are your interests and activities off-campus?

I enjoy cooking.

What should incoming students and other staff members know about you as a person and as a professional?

I’m always willing to help out.
