Delivered online, our Security+ Examination Preparation Program is conducted in ten, four-hour modules. Each module addresses one of the six domains of the common bodies of knowledge associated with the official CompTIA Security+ certification, preparing participants to successfully pass the exam. By passing the Security+ exam and receiving a Security+ certification, IA professionals achieve recognition of their competence and accomplishments. Furthermore, DoD employees and contractors qualify at level one in the Information Assurance Management (IAM) category and level two in the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) category, as described in DoD 8570.1.
Program attendees take practice micro examinations on each of the domains as they move through the program. Students who successfully complete our Security+ Examination Preparation Program, but have difficulty with the Security+ examination, can do a one-time retake of the program at no additional cost (except textbook costs).
Capitol College does not pay for the Security+ examination or the textbook. Arrangements to take the examination must be made directly with CompTIA. The required textbook is the CompTIA Security+ Study Guide: Deluxe Edition by Mike Pastore and Emmett Dulaney.
