Information Assurance Scholarship Program

Each year, Capitol College offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students the opportunity to apply to the Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP) sponsored by the Department of Defense (DoD). An undetermined number of scholarships will be awarded nationwide each academic year. Awards will include tuition plus a $22,000 stipend for graduate students or a $17,000 stipend for undergraduate students.

Information Assurance Scholarships at Capitol College are limited to qualified students who are or will pursue a degree in information assurance. Capitol College will evaluate and rank IASP applicants and forward them to the DoD with a recommended action. Students cannot apply directly to DoD.

Each November, the DoD releases a revised application form and instructions.  Students exploring this opportunity prior to November should be mindful that the PDFs below reflect the previous years information.

Recipients must agree to work for the DoD or one of its agencies after graduation, for a length of time corresponding to their scholarship. Individuals considering the scholarship must be:

  • U.S. Citizens,
  • willing to potentially relocate,
  • eligible to apply for a security clearance, and
  • able to pass drug screening test(s).

Interested? Questions about the scholarship should be directed to Ken Crockett at ken {at} capitol-college.edu or 240.965.2457.

Completed applications, due Jan. 31, each year, should be mailed to:
