Foundation Relations

The mission of the Foundation Relations office is to establish, implement and coordinate a comprehensive system within the college for a strategic, multi-faceted and coordinated approach with both private foundations and corporate foundations. The primary goal is to secure grants, sponsorships and other revenue (both direct and indirect, e.g. goods or services). The secondary goal is to work with other departments and offices, both academic and administrative, to provide a value-added service to the college for internships, strategic partnerships, academic based programs, alumni sponsorships, etc.

The Foundation Relations office is intended to facilitate an overall coordinated strategy for the college grant process.

Priorities for 2010-2011

The Foundation Relations office actively engages academic departments, institutes, centers, and administrative offices within the college to generate and implement methods to cultivate foundation and grant support. To assist faculty and staff in applying for external grant support, the college established a set of policies and procedures.

In collaboration with the Development office, the Foundation Relations office seeks funding through grant opportunities within DoD, NSF, NASA, etc.(direct and indirect), and foundation support. The office focuses on identifying new grant opportunities, as well as building from already existing relationships.

Campaigns for scholarship support, corporate sponsorship, and local-area business partnerships are top priority.
